Children and young people who struggle with verbal communication, may often become overwhelmed when presented with making choices. These tactile discs can support children and young people with making, what may feel like to a neurotypical young person, difficult decisions that much easier. They can help reduce stress, overwhelm and allow the child or young person to have their “voice” heard in a safe way, increasing their capacity to give consent. Supports autistic, ADHD and SEN learners with nonverbal or limited-verbal communication.

Designed in collaboration with a senior CAMHS nurse, who has 30 years experience in the fields of adult learning disability and autism, children’s learning disability, children’s mental health and crisis intervention. Therapeutic skills include dialectical behaviour therapy, (DBT) and Non-Violent resistance therapy (NVR).
