Who Are They For?

These Makaton tiles are designed for children and adults who are beginning to learn and use basic Makaton signs and symbols. They can be particularly helpful for non-speaking or minimally speaking children, including autistic children, and anyone who benefits from visual communication support.

A simple, portable communication aid to help make everyday interactions more accessible.

Please note: These tiles are a learning and communication support aid and are not a substitute for personalised communication support. Adult supervision is recommended for young children, particularly around small parts and keyring components.

Designed in collaboration with a senior CAMHS nurse, who has 30 years experience in the fields of adult learning disability and autism, children’s learning disability, children’s mental health and crisis intervention. Therapeutic skills include dialectical behaviour therapy, (DBT) and Non-Violent resistance therapy (NVR).
